Six mobile assistance specialities for heavy commercial vehicles, available 24 hours on the road.

Mobile tyre service

Mobile tyre service

We carry the sizes that move international freight: 315/80 R22.5 steer and drive, 385/65 R22.5 trailer and 295/80 R22.5. Every van has a high-tonnage jack, impact gun and torque wrench, so wheel nuts go back on at the correct torque rather than by feel. If the inner tyre on a twin has blown, we change it without stripping the whole axle.

What to do while we are on the way

  • Put out your triangles and your hi-vis before leaving the cab
  • Give us the exact size moulded into the sidewall
  • Tell us whether it is an inner, outer or steer wheel

What never to do

  • Do not keep running on a blown twin — it destroys the other one
  • Do not tighten nuts without a torque wrench
  • Do not attempt it yourself without chocks and firm ground
Roadside mechanical breakdown

Roadside mechanical breakdown

Most stoppages are not catastrophic failures — they are wear parts giving up a long way from a workshop. We replace drive belts and tensioners, water pumps, hoses and radiators, alternators and starter motors, and trace diesel leaks in the fuel circuit. We work on DAF, Volvo, Scania, Mercedes, MAN, Renault and Iveco.

What to do while we are on the way

  • Note any warning lamp that came on before it stopped
  • Check whether the engine turns but will not fire, or will not turn
  • Have the tractor unit model and year to hand

What never to do

  • Do not top up the coolant circuit with the engine hot
  • Do not keep cranking — you will burn out the starter
  • Do not pour in additives to seal a diesel leak
Air suspension repair

Air suspension repair

A burst air bag drops the trailer onto the bump stop and makes it impossible to carry on loaded. We replace the bag at the roadside, check the levelling valve and confirm the axle returns to correct ride height. We also trace slow leaks in the circuit with a detector — the kind that leaves the truck sitting on its stops overnight.

What to do while we are on the way

  • Note which side of the chassis has dropped and tell the mechanic
  • Drain the air tank if water comes out with the air
  • Say whether it drops when parked or only when driving

What never to do

  • Do not drive on a burst bag — it wrecks the damper
  • Do not pack the axle with timber to carry on
  • Do not ignore a constant hiss of escaping air
Brakes and calipers

Brakes and calipers

A seized trailer caliper is the single most common fault that strands a truck in a service area. We free the caliper, replace discs and pads, repair air lines and fittings and change Knorr-Bremse and Wabco relay and modulator valves. Before we release you we check pressures on both circuits.

What to do while we are on the way

  • Look for smoke or a burning smell at any wheel
  • Check air tank pressure on the dashboard gauge
  • Tell us if the trailer locked up on the emergency brake

What never to do

  • Do not force it along with a wheel locked
  • Do not cool a red-hot disc with water
  • Do not fiddle with trailer valves you do not know
Reefer and cooling units

Reefer and cooling units

When the fridge stops with meat, fish or pharmaceuticals inside, the clock is running against you. We handle unit start failures, belts and pulleys, temperature sensors, pressure switches and gas loss, plus Thermo King and Carrier Transicold alarm codes. These jobs go to the front of the queue, because the load does not wait.

What to do while we are on the way

  • Give us the alarm code showing on the display
  • Note both the set point and the actual temperature
  • Keep the doors shut until we arrive

What never to do

  • Do not open the box to check the load
  • Do not reset the unit repeatedly — it wipes the fault history
  • Do not wait until the cold chain is already broken to call
Diagnostics and electrics

Diagnostics and electrics

We carry multi-brand diagnostic equipment to read and clear codes on both tractor and trailer. We resolve the faults that force limp mode: AdBlue system and NOx sensor, air mass meter, camshaft sensor, injection and boost pressure. We also repair lighting, marker lamps, earths and trailer connectors.

What to do while we are on the way

  • Photograph the warning lamp or dashboard message
  • Tell us if it has gone into limp mode and what speed it caps at
  • Say how long the warning has been showing

What never to do

  • Do not clear the fault codes before we get there
  • Do not top up AdBlue from unsealed containers
  • Do not bridge fuses with wire

Comparison

A specialist mobile workshop against generic roadside cover

With us

  • An HGV mechanic answers, and knows what to ask
  • A van with high-tonnage jack, compressor and stock of tyres and air bags
  • Direct support in seven languages, with no translator in between
  • Repair on the shoulder whenever it is technically possible
  • Job sheet with photographs and part numbers the same day

With generic cover

  • A call centre answers, takes notes and forwards the job
  • A light vehicle arrives that often cannot lift a tractor unit
  • Spanish or basic English only, with the fault misunderstood
  • Recovery by default, even when the fault was fixable on site
  • An invoice with no breakdown and nothing usable by the fleet

What drivers and dispatchers say

Real jobs on the corridors we cover.

I blew the inner tyre on a twin at two in the morning, twenty kilometres from the border. I called and they answered in Romanian, which is half the worry gone already. They arrived in forty minutes with the right size and by four I was rolling towards Perpignan again.

We run twelve refrigerated units and one stopped at Mataró with fish on board. They understood the urgency without me having to explain it twice. They restarted it on site and sent the report with photographs the same day for the insurer.

An air bag burst on the trailer loaded with pallets of tiles. I assumed recovery and a lost day. They came out with the bag, changed it on the shoulder and checked ride height before letting me go.

Trailer caliper seized in a service area and I could not move. They spoke to me in Bulgarian and talked me through what to check while they drove out. They freed it, changed the pads and checked pressures before signing off.

Drive belt snapped near the port with a booked loading slot. They brought the correct belt and tensioner without me having to find the part number. I lost the slot but not the day.

The truck went into limp mode on an AdBlue fault and capped at forty. They read the ECU on the shoulder, found the sensor and got me moving with full power. They also explained what to check back at our own workshop.

A stopped truck earns nothing. We are leaving now.
